Google Pixel 5a 5G to run on Snapdragon 765G SoC
Google plans to launch the new Pixel 5a 5G sometime later this year and according to a report by 9to5Google, adducing the latest Android 12 Developer Preview, the Pixel 5a 5G will run on the same chip as the Google Pixel 5.
As per the report, several files have been uncovered with numerous references to the Pixel 5a 5G, codenamed "Barbet" along with sm7250 which refers to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC.
Recently leaked renders show a design similar to the Pixel 4a 5G. The Pixel 5a 5G will have a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera on the top left corner and narrow bezels. It has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a typical square-camera module similar to previous Pixel models. Furthermore, it has dual sensors with an LED flash with volume and power buttons on the right side.
According to earlier reports, the Pixel 5a will feature a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It will run on 4GB/6GB RAM, pack storage up to 128GB, and boot Android 12 OS out of the box. Other features include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
