Apple has finally released the MagSafe battery pack for iPhone 12 models. Unofficially, such battery packs have been available in the market, offered by third parties. Now, months after the release of the iPhone 12, Apple has quietly launched the official MagSafe accessory.

Back in February, we learned that Apple is working on such a battery pack that utilized the company's MagSafe technology to attach itself at the back of the handset. However, software issues caused the device to overheat, causing delay.

The battery pack has a capacity of 1460 mAh or 11.2 watt-hours, which is just enough to fully charge an iPhone 12. It can be recharged with up to 20W of power through a lightning port and charges the iPhone at 5W power.

The MagSafe battery pack requires the iPhone to be running iOS 14.7 or later. It is currently available in white with a matte finish and can be purchased through Apple's website for $99. Deliveries start from July 19 in the United States.

The battery pack is also listed on the Apple India store for Rs. 10,900 but is currently unavailable, suggesting that it could be available in the country pretty soon.
