Twitter adds new "Tip Jar" feature
Twitter had added yet another feature to its existing array of new features such as the Clubhouse-like audio room feature called "Twitter Spaces." This was reported last month and it turns out to be true. The new feature is called - "Tip Jar" and simply going by its name, it allows you to tip Twitter users.
To use the feature, users must visit the profile of the one they wish to tip and look for the Tip Jar button that resembles a dollar bill. Twitter is currently supporting several payment options including Venmo, Cashapp, PayPal, Patreon, and Bandcamp, giving the users a wide choice of options.
Twitter has been used for a long time now to allure tips and donations. We have seen several instances where users have included a payment link under any viral tweet to attract some tips. Using this feature, Twitter incorporates this practice into its own system.
The Tip Jar option is available only to users who use the platform in English and only a limited group of people, including journalists, non-profits, experts, and creators. However, anyone using Twitter in English can start tipping people who have Tip Jar enabled.
