Ola Electric has now unveiled its plans to set up a Hypercharger Network across India, which will be implemented over the next five years. These charging stations will be exclusive for Ola Electric vehicles. Ola Electric has claimed that it will be the largest and densest network in the world. There will be over 1,00,000 charging points across 400 cities. Ola has also claimed that the Ola electric scooter that is expected to go to sale soon can be charged up to 50 percent in 18 minutes when charged through their Hypercharger Network.

Infrastructure Details :

Ola Electric has claimed that it will be setting up 1,00,000 charging stations across 400 cities in India, as part of the Hypercharger network. It also claims that this will be the largest and the densest electric two-wheeler charging network in the world. The project will have many phases and phase 1 will aim for 5,000 charging stations across 100 cities in the first year. And according to Ola, this capacity will double the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the country.

Locations and Charging Speed

Ola has also claimed that their network will be the quickest two-wheeler network. The charging station can charge 50 percent battery in under 18 minutes, which is equivalent to a 75km range.

These charging stations will be set up at places frequented by the public, such as malls, cafes, IT parks, etc.

The company will make the network easy to use, with the owner only requiring to connect the electric scooter to the charging point. The battery's charging status can be viewed on a smartphone via the Ola Electric app, which can also be used to pay for the units consumed.

Ola Electric has said that the aim of setting up their Hypercharger Network is to tackle the issue of paltry EV charging infrastructure present in India. Solving this problem can help encourage people to adopt electric vehicles. Ola Electric has also planned the launch of its electric scooter in 2021.
