MediaTek will soon launch Dimensity 900 chipset, expected to debut on an upcoming OPPO smartphone

MediaTek will soon be launching a new processor with the part number MT6877. The chipset is dubbed Dimensity 900 and has recently gone through a benchmark test on AnTuTu which gives us an insight into the chipset's performance.

Tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that a test device powered by the chipset scored about 480,000 points on the test. The Dimensity 820 and Snapdragon 768G both have a score of about 440,000 on the same benchmark platform, which puts the new upcoming chipset way above them.

The Dimensity 900 is expected to be introduced in an OPPO smartphone with the model number PEQMOO. It is expected to feature a 6.43-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The chipset will also be coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage.

The device will have a punch hole at the top left corner with a 32MP selfie camera and a 64MP primary camera on the rear. It also has a massive battery capacity of 4400mAh with support for 65W fast charging. As per the leak, the smartphone is expected to have a launch price of about ¥2500 (~$389).
