Honor Play 5 to launch soon; leaked specifications and renders
Honor announced the launch of the Honor Play 5T Life in china last week. Yesterday GSMArena revealed the renders of a new Smartphone model by Honor, dubbed Honor Play 5. Now, a popular tipster, Digital Chat Station has shared the specifications of the model and even claims that it will launch soon in China.
As per the report, the Honor Play 5 is believed to feature a 6.53-inch OLED pane supporting a Full HD+ resolution. It runs a Mediatek Dimensity 800U chipset under the hood and has a battery backup of 3,800mAh that supports 66W rapid charging. The rear camera module consists of a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel secondary lens, and a pair of 2-megapixel sensors.
The leaked renders show a waterdrop notch display and a rectangular rear camera module. The device apparently has flat edges and measures 7.46mm in thickness and weighs 179 grams. It features a SIM card slot on the left edge and a microphone on the top edge.
The volume buttons could be placed on the right side of the handset. It is unknown whether the model features a side-mounted or an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Nothing more is known about the device currently. There's no price revealed but is expected to cost higher than the recently unveiled Honor Play 5T which costs 1,299 Yuan (~$200). The Honor Play 5 is expected to be unveiled by early May in China.
