Google foldable phone revealed in Android 12 beta build alongside other upcoming Pixel smartphones
Google has finally launched the Android 12 beta for Pixel smartphones and reportedly, numerous references in the beta build have revealed four upcoming pixel smartphones in 2021. According to a report by 9to5Google, the beta build has revealed four upcoming devices along with their model numbers and codenames.
As per the report, the model numbers listed are for the Japanese variant of the pixel smartphones which include the Pixel 5a 5G- G4S1M (codename Barbet), Pixel 6 series- GR1YH (codename Oriole), Pixel 6 series- GF5KQ (codename Raven), Pixel foldable- GpQ72 (codename Passport).
Google had confirmed its entry into the foldable market back in 2019. There have been numerous rumors in the past but this may hint at an imminent launch. However, the report says that the inclusion of files regarding Passport foldable does not mean a launch this year or maybe no launch at all.
9to5Google justifies its statement by referring to an unreleased version of the Pixel 4 with 5G connectivity codenamed “Needlefish” spotted early in 2019 and even found in the recent build of Android 12 Beta, but this device never saw the light of the day.
Unfortunately, there are no further details about the specifications of the mentioned devices. Previous reports suggest that the Google foldable might feature a 7.6-inch Samsung foldable screen with an OLED display.
