Apple's virtual assistant Siri reveals upcoming event on April 20
Apple's much-anticipated WWDC 2021 event will be organized virtually from June 7 to June 11. However, the Cupertino giant seems to have plans for another event prior to that. According to a report by MacRumors, Apple's virtual assistant Siri revealed Apple's plans to hold an event on April 20.
When asked, "When is the next Apple event," Siri replies with the following statement: “The special event is on Tuesday, April 20, at Apple Park in Cupertino, CA. You can get all the details on Apple.com,” along with a link to Apple.com. Although, it seems like the response depends on the location or the region as Siri does not reveal the date in India and skips to providing the link.
The event is likely to be a pre-recorded affair without media in attendance and should be live-streamed on Apple's website and YouTube channel. Generally, Apple sends out press invitations for its digital events around a week before the actual event. Thus, Apple is likely to confirm the event later today.
As per earlier reports, Apple is looking to unveil a few new Apple products in April. These include the revamped 12.9-inch iPad Pro models featuring MiniLED displays and the long-rumored AirTags tracker. This event, scheduled for 20th April, will most likely focus on the launch of these new products.
