Motorola rugged smartphone featuring Snapdragon 662 chipset will launch soon
Motorola is reportedly working on a new rugged smartphone model. The smartphone will be manufactured by a UK-based smartphone maker, Bullitt Group, and will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC.
Bullitt Group is the company behind Cat, Kodak, and Land Rover smartphones. They entered the rugged smartphone sector back in 2009 and are one of the top players in the market. Now, the company has partnered with the Lenovo-owned manufacturer to produce Motorola-branded rugged smartphone models which are dustproof and shockproof.
“This is a unique strategic alliance, as it allows Bullitt to apply its expertise to the Motorola portfolio of products,” says Dave Floyd, Bullitt Co-Founder. As per Bullitt, this is a “long-term global strategic brand partnership to develop and market rugged mobile phones bearing the iconic Motorola brand”.
The device is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC under the hood along with Adreno 610 GPU. It will have a huge battery backup of 5000 mAh with support for 20W fast charging. The handset is expected to run on Android OS with models supporting both 4G and 5G networks.
Unfortunately, any further details are not available as of now. This is the first smartphone model that will be built by the Bullitt Group using trademarks and logos owned by Motorola Trademark Holdings. There is no mention of a launch date, however, it is expected to launch soon. Thus, stay tuned for further updates.
