Redmi has finally confirmed the launch of its first gaming smartphone. Dubbed Redmi K40 Gaming Enhanced Edition, the gaming smartphone will be unveiled at a launch event on April 27 in China. The K40 series was announced back in February in China which included the Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro+.

It can be safely assumed that the Xiaomi devices with model numbers M2102K10C and M2104K10C that were recently listed by the 3C authority of China could possibly be the two variants of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. The listings revealed that these devices carry support for 5G connectivity, and they come with a 67W fast charger.

Redmi has also released a GIF image to tease the key features of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. It reveals that the phone is fitted with physical shoulder trigger buttons for an enhanced gaming experience. There is also a vertical triple camera setup with some form of lighting available surrounding the cameras.

According to previous leaks, the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will be powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 1200 chipset. It is expected to feature a 6.67-inch  Samsung S-AMOLED E4 screen with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. It will also have a behemoth battery backup of 5,000mAh.

The K40 Game Enhanced Edition may be priced at around CNY 2,000-2,500 ($300-380). It is also expected to arrive in India but may be provided a Poco branding by Xiaomi.
