The Redmi K40 Gaming Enhanced edition which launched yesterday in China might be rebranded as POCO F3 GT during the India launch. The Xiaomi-owned smartphone brand mostly operates independently and we often see similar resources shared between them.

Poco another one of Xiaomi's sub-brand is now established as a separate brand and is quickly gaining its global identity. Poco also seems to share some resources and technology with its parent brand, Xiaomi, and sometimes even rebranding models like this.

This was imminent and mentioned in an earlier post. Now thanks to a tweet by Xiaomi leaker and XDA Senior Member kacskrz where he posts a picture of an MIUI 12 code snippet, this leak has gained some ground.

The model number “M2104K10C” represents the Redmi K40 Gaming Enhanced edition, where the C at the end indicates its release in the Chinese market. Similarly, “M2104K10I” represents the POCO F3 GT release in the Indian market.

Xiaomi had launched the Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro+ in China in the month of February. Among these, the Redmi K40 was rebranded into the POCO F3 for Global markets and the Mi 11X for the Indian market. Skipping the Redmi K40 Pro, the Redmi K40 Pro+ was launched as the Mi 11i globally and as the Mi 11X Pro in India.

Now, with the Redmi K40 Gaming Enhanced edition being rebranded as the POCO F3 GT for the Indian market, we can only speculate if it will make it to the global market.
