"Something new is coming! Before the official launch event and product name reveal, we are thrilled to announce the opening of The Lab. Would you like to be among the first to experience and review the device before anyone else?

The lab is right here, waiting for you. We'll be selecting 6 reviewers to review the upcoming Nord product," OnePlus said in its forum. At the back, we could see a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary camera. It could be accompanied by an 8-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel camera.

On the front, the 5G phone is tipped to feature a 16-megapixel camera. This one is said to retain the company’s signature alert slider feature, which one now gets on select OnePlus phones.

OnePlus Nord 3: Expected features

OnePlus Nord 3 will succeed the OnePlus Nord 2. The smartphone is rumoured to have a 6.7-inch 1.5K resolution screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display is tipped to be an AMOLED one. The smartphone is tipped to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor. It is the same SoC that powers devices like Tecno Phantom V Fold and Oppo Find N2 Flip.

To perform camera duties, OnePlus Nord 3 may feature a triple camera setup on the back. There could be a 50MP main sensor paired with an 8MP secondary and a 2MP tertiary sensor. For selfies and video calls, the handset may offer a 16MP camera at the front.

OnePlus Nord 3 is tipped to run on the company’s own custom OS based on Android 13. The device may be backed by a 5,000mAh battery. It may come with support for 80watt fast charging technology.

When will the OnePlus Nord 3 be released?

OnePlus hasn’t officially announced the Nord 3 yet, so there is no set launch date.

MySmartPrice has reported that the Nord 3 will launch in June or July 2023. The same site has since spotted the phone listed on TUV certification, China Quality Certification Center (CQC) certification, and Indian BIS certification, suggesting that the handset is indeed nearly ready to go.

Looking at older models doesn’t really make things clearer. While the first two Nords both launched in late summer, last year’s 2T threw things off with an earlier May launch, and so now all bets are off:

How much will the OnePlus Nord 3 cost?

Again, there’s no word from OnePlus on pricing, but leakers are beginning to place their bets. Roland Quandt expects the 8/128GB model to cost €449, and a 16/256GB version to cost more at €549. In India, Yogesh Brar expects a price of ₹30-40,000.

Those are both about in line with 2021’s Nord 2, albeit a little more expensive:

  • 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹27,999
  • 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: £399/€399/₹29,999/$529
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: £469/€499/₹34,999/$629

What features and specs will we see in the OnePlus Nord 3?

As you’ve probably worked out, there are no confirmed details about what components we’ll find in the OnePlus Nord 3.

We have had a look at what’s allegedly the phone in the flesh thanks to a leak on Twitter, and tellingly it looks pretty much identical to the OnePlus Ace 2V that’s already launched in China.

Perhaps most surprisingly, the images even show that the Nord 3 will feature an alert slider, which OnePlus has used inconsistently over the last few years.

The OnePlus Nord 3 will likely ship with Android 13 OS out of the box because Android 14 OS is not out yet. OnePlus is tipped to feature a typical 5,000mAh battery under the hood. The company will likely bundle a charger too, along with the phone. The OnePlus Nord 3 could get support for 80W fast charging tech.

Conclusion

All these specifications are based on leaks and the company is yet to confirm the official specs and price of the upcoming Nord phone. We will likely have more details on the upcoming OnePlus smartphone in the coming days or weeks as the company has started teasing the launch event.
