The Asus ZenFone 8 has been long-awaited and finally, some rumors related to the specifications have surfaced online. The predecessor ZenFone 7 series had two models and the upcoming series is also expected to have at least two models. It is reported that the smartphones will be powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC.
Both Asus Zenfone 8 and Asus ZenFone 8 Pro will likely run on Snapdragon 888 chipset but the Pro version will probably have a refresh rate of 144Hz. Model Number ZS590KS that is codenamed SAKE, which is likely to be ZenFone 8 is expected to feature a small 5.9-inch full-HD+ display. On the other hand, with model number ZS673KS, the Pro version is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+ display.
In the camera section, the entire rear camera is expected to use a combination of these sensors: IMX686, OM13855, and OV8856. The ZenFone series has been using Flip camera mechanism since ZenFone 6 but it is rumored that Asus could ditch it. With the absence of the Flip Camera, the ZenFone 8 series could go for a conventional form factor with a punch-hole cutout display, or uniform bezels like the ROG Phone 5.
As of now, Asus is yet to announce anything officially on this front. Hence, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt.
