Apple Is Developing Mac Pro With 40 Cores Silicon

The tech giant, Apple is reported to launch a new Mac Pro desktop in 2022. It is expected to feature a new faster Apple Silicon chip with up to 40 processing cores and 128 graphics cores.

This summer, Apple is also planning to launch updated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the latest Apple Silicon chips.

According to Bloomberg, the Cupertino company is working on a new Mac Pro model that will sport a processor that's either twice or four times as powerful as the high-end MacBook Pro chips. Moreover, Apple has been wroking on the new Mac Pro for past several months. Reports also suggests that, compared to the current model, it is expected to feature a smaller design.

The latest Mac Pro chips will come in either 20 or 40 computing core versions which will be codenamed Jade 2C-Die and Jade 4C-Die. The chips will contain four or eight high-efficiency cores. along with 16 high-performance cores or 32-high performance cores. For graphics, Jade 2C-Die and Jade 4C-Die will be available in either 64-core or 128-core options.

The new Mac Pro chips will top the 28 core maximum offered by current Intel models. A publication reported that redesigning of the Mac Pro began in November 2020 and in Feburary, some renders based on leaked description and images of the device were shared by the prolific leaker Jon Prosser.

Moreover, the tech giant is reportedly to work on other desktops, such as a larger iMac and a refreshed Mac mini.
