Huawei now to sell its own line of monitors
Huawei is now officially joining the desktop monitor business with the release of its own 23.8 inch IPS monitor. The company announced the release of the product on the 2nd of April and the launch date is set for April 14. The monitor is currently named the Huawei Display 23.8. This device is one of the '8' in the Chinese tech giant’s ‘1+8+N’ strategy.
The monitor comes with a sleek and seamless unibody design, surrounded by narrow bezels on either side and on the top. The narrow bezels just measure in at just 5.7mm. The monitor has a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The monitor is compatible with almost all types of devices, being it PCs or laptops. The monitor has a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The device covers 72% of the NTSC color gamut and boasts a 178-degree viewing angle and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Another neat feature is the vertical tilt of the monitor which can go down by 5° or elevate to 22° depending on your preference.
I/O is fairly basic with a DC input for power, one HDMI, and a VGA port. Box contents include a power adapter, a 1.5-meter HDMI cable, a quick start guide, and a warranty. Dimensions come in at 538.5mm x 425mm x 170mm and the overall weight is 4.05 kg. There’s a single black color option.
Furthermore, the monitor will also come with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification and Flicker-Free certification for better eye protection. Apart from all these features, the company has stated that they aim to offer premium picture quality at an affordable price. The Huawei Display 23.8" is priced at £149.99 roughly Rs15K and pre-orders have already begun which will last till April 13. The display will be available from Huawei's official store from 14th April 2021. The monitor is also available across major European markets for €159 as well as in Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
