After Samsung, Huawei, and Xiaomi, looks like OnePlus is also planning to throw its chapeau into the foldable smartphone member. Going by a OnePlus patent, first spotted by LetsGoDigital, OnePlus is working on a foldable smartphone that might feature three displays and two hinges.

The patent, named Mobile terminal, was reportedly filed in China in 2020 and was published in July 2021. The patent is also included in the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) database for the worldwide protection of the patented tech. Grounded on this patent, LetsGoDigital participated in many renders of this device.

As per the renders, the three displays are held by two hinges that can be folded in different ways. It can be folded into a small smartphone, when unfolded, it can work as a large tablet. For protection from scrapes and bumps, this folding display is placed on the inside.

The device comes with two hinges, one is lower than the other. When the phone is unfolded, the first display falls over the first hinge. The first display part is thicker than the other two corridors of the device. The smartphone will also feature a lockable slider which was constructed by Gao Yang.

A tri-foldable smartphone does sound interesting and instigative. Still, these renders have bought up a lot of questions, including that of continuity since that's one of the main enterprises for folding smartphones. It's also not sanctioned if the smartphone will be available for marketable druggies. The report has suggested that OnePlus is likely to launch its first-ever foldable smartphone in 2022.

In addition to OnePlus, Oppo is also bruited to be working on a foldable binary-screen smartphone. According to Tipster, the Peacock can be launched at the end of this time, i.e., coming month. The company may launch Peacock with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and Butterfly with the forthcoming rearmost chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 898.

Talking about the features, the Oppo foldable phone will come with an 8- inch LTPO OLED display that will offer a 120Hz refresh rate. So far, the information about the total camera available on the reverse isn't known, but it's anticipated that we get to see Sony IMX766 50-megapixel primary camera in it. The report is that the phone will come with a mAh battery and be supported by 65W presto charging technology.
