Chinese electronics and software company Xiaomi has launched two new service Mi Music and Mi Video across the Mi users community – said at an event in Mumbai, India.Both services are available for beta users and will be rolled out for all starting second week of may.
At Mi POP event in Mumbai, Xiaomi India, Vice President Manu Jain, said that – the new Mi Music App will have content powered by Hungama Music and will have on offer over 10 million tracks free for its users.To reach out to a wider audience, the app will have support for 13 languages (Bengali, Marathi among others). For those who don’t know, Hungama was one of the first companies that Xiaomi invested back in 2016.
As for Mi Video, it was till now available in offline mode but now will have an online mode as well. The app will give the users an option to cast content on a smart TV and comes with the support of 15 Indic languages. Xiaomi’s content partners for the Mi Video app include the likes of Sony Liv, Voot, Hungama Play among others. Xiaomi claims that with the Mi Video app it is the largest content aggregator with over 500,000+ hours of content available. The Mi Video app will support 12 popular video formats of which three are new: MKA, MPEG, M2TS.
