Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has apparently started to get Android Oreo 8 which is the latest release of Android from Google. Samsung has already tested the beta version of Android Oreo for its Flagship phone Galaxy S8, instead of releasing Android Oreo for Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung started to release Android Oreo for Galaxy Note 8 (Someone posted on Reddit claims this). This clearly states that if this rollout appears to be good and smooth only then this will be continued (just like a test roll out).

The unit which gets the update is EXYNOS version of Galaxy Note 8, update carries build number R16NW.N950FXXU2CRA1.DM.
The update also brings January 2018 Android Security patch to the Device.

Update log is as Follows:

  • Update to the Keyboard
  • Picture-in-Picture Support
  • Autofill API support (with Bio-metrics) for all apps, and browsers
  • Coloured media notification
  • Gify support added
  • Samsung Secure folder backup option added
  • Bluetooth, high-quality audio codecs
  • Manage Passwords of Samsung and third-party apps with Samsung pass
