Android is an important part of our life nowadays. So, basically when it all happened and how it progresses to the new Android which we see today.
Android is a mobile running Operating System which is based on modified Linux Kernel developed by Andy Rubin and further owned by Google Inc. and now Google owns this Opensource Operating System. We have made the list of Android Version of all time with their unique improvements.

If Android is popular to that extent so why not to look at the past when it starts to grow and reaches in people hands and various changes

1. Android Cupcake (1.5)

Android Cupcake
This is the first Android that is seen on a Mobile phone with a touchscreen module. The following are the first introduced features :
-> Bluetooth support for A2DP profile
-> Keyboard support (on screen), because it supports a touchscreen module.

-> First Android Operating System.

2. Android Donut (1.6)

Android Donut
This version o Android does not have that many improvements over its predecessor (Android Cupcake), though it has:

3. Android Eclairs (2.0)

Android Eclairs
This is the first Android OS which has a lot of improvements over its predecessor. In this, we have new functionality introduced to devices such as:

-> New polished UI (User Interface)

4. Android Froyo (2.2)

Android Froyo
Just like Android Donut, this is also a polished version of its predecessor instead of introducing new features.

5. Android Gingerbread (2.3)

Probably this would be the first Android Operating System seen by all of us initially, this has tones of features inbuilt like :

-> Video call support

6. Android Honeycomb (3.0)

Android Honeycomb
This Android is unknown to many of us. Android Honeycomb is basically designed and optimized to support huge screen. Hence is limited to tablets only, though it does have many improvements over Android 2.3:
-> Multi-Core Support
-> New 3D UI (User Interface).

-> HTTP Live Streaming

7. Android Ice-cream Sandwich (4.0)

From Android Ice-cream Sandwich we can say that this is the Android OS which brings a revolution in Mobile industry and every one start to adopt Android as their basic Operating system for their Mobile:

9. Android KitKat (4.4)

10. Android Lollipop (5.0)

Android Lollipop
Lollipop is one of the famous Android variants which is mostly concentrated to enhance battery performance without compromising the performance of the device

-> New Design
-> Battery improvements
-> Security updates

From Android Lollipop, Google Starts to push regular Android Security Patch to devices for fixing vulnerabilities found on Android devices.

Now the time has come and we are rapidly using biometrics to unlock devices and here is the Android Marshmallow which supports Biometrics API:

12. Android Nougat (7.0)

Google emphasizes updating Android with improvements and added functionality so, the same is with Android nougat. This variant can be considered as an upgraded version of marshmallow it has all the features of Android Marshmallow with upgraded level:

-> Improved touch functionality
-> App shortcuts

13. Android Oreo (8.0)

Android Oreo
Android oreo is the latest running Android Operating system from Google and it is a worthy upgrade over Android nougat having:

-> New emoji’s
-> Instant Apps support
-> Redesigned lock screen
-> Dynamic launcher.
