After running these feature in testing mode in the US. Google will be rolling out speed limits and mobile Radar location in India and other 40 countries. According to Google, maps would now let the user see speed limits, speed cameras, and mobile speed camera. This feature will be available across more than 40 countries worldwide including UK, Russia, Mexico, Japan and obviously India.
The speed limit would appear in the bottom corner of the maps and speed traps would show up as an icon on the road. This feature will be coming to both android and iOS users. Android users will additionally be able to report mobile speed cameras. Android and iOS users will be able to see these update during their next drive.
Google maps started testing this issue last year in the San Francisco Bay area in California and Rio De Janeiro Brazil. This feature is inspired by the navigation app Waze, which is also acquired by Google since 2013.
